Ideas for kids this New Years!

How easy is this? And it's edible. Ice Cream Cones - prepared canned frosting and yes - MORE SPRINKLES! I think I would add some licorice whip strings out the top for the firework effect.

Makes me wish I had young children to still do crafts with.

Cake pops and a use for the left over candy canes. I don't think I would replace the stick with the cane. It probably won't hold thru the candy dipping process. Candy Canes are also on clearance so it is a cheap alternative to the expensive sticks.

A look back.

10 things I did this year!

1. Worked as a 2 store manager for the first time.
2. Found my mothers birth family.
3. Found  Uncle Bill - my husbands dads brother!
4. Realized my kids have to make their own mistakes.
5. Went drinking with my 21 year old daughter on her birthday.
6. Went to see my son in his first gig.
7. Not give up on the effort to connect with my brother.
8. Decided I would bake more.
9. Took a vacation for a week and did nothing.
10.Be amazed at my middle daughters baking abilities!

New Years Plans:

Unfortunately I have to work as required by the law of (F.V.- companies initials) until 8pm It's retail people and this is our busiest day of the year. I'll then come home to my son and my husband and probably make some snacks and either watch tv or play some board game. My husband will most likely fall asleep at multiple times during the night. We'll ring in the New Year and then go to bed because I work at 10am New Years Day. Weeeee!

Who do you miss talking to?

I'd have to say 2 employees who used to work for me - Tanya (always great conversation) and Felicia (and her sassy self!). I miss talking to my only female cousin I have - Cassie. And I wish that we were closer to my husbands sister and brother - great people and we now have a niece who is growing up and with our crazy retail schedules and families we don't get to see them as much as we want to. And lastly and most importantly - my brother.

List the things you want to change in the New Year....

I can't say that I would WISH for things to be different because everything thrown our way, is done so for a reason. It makes us stronger, makes us learn from our mistakes and grow as people. I would like to continue to be more organized, get rid of the unimportant crap in my life, to have a relationship with my mothers birth family, meet my husbands dads family, and learn to relax!

What do you regret?

Not one thing. Ah...maybe my Italian mouth and temper. Thanks mom!

I've read Singletons book and The Punky QB's book- but I don't think I want to read Paytons. I don't want to hear the negtive stuff (even though it's out on the radio and tv everywhere). He'll still be the awesome guy he was in the 80's to me. I don't care who he slept with. I know he was a great humanitarian. That was his private life. Not sure why people have to knock others down like that. The man is dead. Long Live Walter Paytons memory!

Sunday baloooos...

Nope that didn't happen. I was lazy today. Instead of the planters, I beaded 3 bracelets, and 3 pairs of earrings. Made a throw together dinner of Italian Turkey Sausage, sweet potatoes, cucumber, onion and red bean salad. Sorry Special K your diet was not on my plan this weekend. Let's start fresh tomorrow. We are going to tread into new waters Monday as I start managing 2 stores! Some of my favorite pics...still on my to-do list:

I'm going to hang ornaments on my foyer chandelier like this.

I would love for this to be my house and look like this every day when I pull up from work!

An Adorable apron I want to make. It shouldn't be that hard.

Fall/Halloween Playlist

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

To do and was done.

I can't wait to do this. At the bottom of the front stairs, on either side of the railing are 2 beige planters. This is my project tomorrow! Before the Bears game of course.
And this is my crazy dog Mercedes! I put this here for 2 reasons. It's always sad when we put the cover on the pool, which happened today. It really symbolizes the end of summer, my favorite season of the year. Secondly I am not sure this beagle will make it to see another year. You see she is 8 years old, diabetic and blind. I can assure you that this nut, walked up onto the deck and got her way onto the teeny tiny ledge of the pool and started walking around it. My husband yelled from the dining room for me to look out the window. I grabbed the camera while screaming out the bathroom window for her not to move. Meanwhile hubby is running frantically for his shoes so he can go get her down. This pic was taken in better days before her illness. Reminds me of the funny little buger she was.

About me

My life consists of work, work and family. Oh... and the internet. Yes I am a loser. I am a news junkie and Facebook game junkie. I love to bake, and well ...cook. I love all kinds of crafts. I have just started making jewelry. I intended to sell it but find I wear it all. I love to read. After I spend 3 hours on the internet reading, I regret not picking up a book. I have 3 children who I love to spend time with and a husband that never gets to have my time. Sad face =(. And lastly I love God. Not really lastly - always put God first. I dislike movies and television. Oddly enough I work in that field. And I love cheetos!
